ANWETECH AT-S229 is a photoelectric smoke alarm designed to provide early warning by sending out sound and light alarm signals at the early stage of fire when properly installed and maintained. It is suitable for household and similar residential applications where dependable smoke detection is required.
This smoke alarm is powered by 220V-240V AC mains and includes a 9V replaceable battery backup, allowing the unit to continue operating for approximately one to three months when AC power is off. It can be used as a standalone alarm or interconnected with up to 24 compatible units for wider residential coverage.
The unit features a photoelectric sensing design, a Test/Hush button, green and red LED indicators, speaker grill, and low battery warning. In normal condition, the green LED shows AC mains power is present, while the red LED flashes every 33 seconds as part of the self-test cycle. When smoke is detected, the red LED flashes once every second and the alarm sounds with repeated long beeps.
The hush function can temporarily desensitize the alarm circuit for approximately 8 minutes, helping reduce nuisance alarms in non-emergency situations. For proper operation, the battery should be replaced once a year, and the full alarm unit is recommended to be replaced 10 years after installation.
